  International VELUX Award 2010 01 Oct 2009 - 01 Oct 2010
  Across the Globe

The International VELUX Award challenges students of architecture from all over the world to explore and investigate daylight in architecture under the overall award theme Light of tomorrow.

The International VELUX Award 2010 opened for registration on 1 October 2009, encouraging students of architecture to reflect on the role of daylight in architecture – not just as a design component or external factor, but as a central architectural and sustainable issue.

As a student you can freely investigate the role of daylight in the built environment whether you want to focus on daylight in urban contexts, in individual buildings, or as a more abstract concept.
We encourage you to focus on the importance of sunlight and daylight for a sustainable development that is taking human needs and the rhythms and balances of nature into account.

The Award encourages an open-minded dialogue on the theme Light of tomorrow based on experimental approaches and free thinking. The Award has no specific categories or requirements to the use of VELUX products in the projects.

We welcome your participation and look forward to your contribution to the continuous discussion on daylight and architecture. You need to register to be able to participate in the Award. Registration opened on 1 October 2009. General information about the Award can be found via the link below.

You will find impressions and interviews with the winners and honourable mentions on the video clips from the 2008 Award.
